Event Description
As digital technology becomes central to everyday life, it’s essential that seniors feel confident navigating it. This workshop offers a hands-on, intergenerational experience where youth serve as digital mentors—supporting seniors as they build foundational tech skills and gain confidence in a connected world.
Objective
Participants will develop essential digital literacy skills, including how to use smartphones, send emails, browse the internet safely, and engage with basic digital tools. The workshop fosters trust, patience, and collaboration between generations, helping seniors feel empowered and independent in their digital journeys.
What to Expect
One-on-One Mentorship: Youth mentors paired with seniors for personalized guidance.
Smartphone Navigation: Learning how to use phone features like texting, camera, contacts, and apps.
Email Essentials: Creating, sending, and organizing emails securely.
Internet Basics & Safety: Understanding browsers, searching for information, and staying safe online.
Real-World Practice: Activities that apply new skills to everyday situations (e.g., looking up directions or booking appointments).
